Regular Employees

The last working day for MSU employees before the winter recess will be Thursday, December 19, 2024. The campus will reopen on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Employees must be in a paid employment status on the calendar date of the holiday, regardless of the date observed, to be eligible for full holiday pay.

The following dates should be recorded as Holiday Pay on most timesheets:

December 20, 23, 24, 25, 26, and January 1

The following dates should be recorded as University Holiday Pay on most timesheets:

December 27, 30, and 31

The last working day for MSU employees before the winter recess will be Thursday, December 19, 2024, and return to work on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Employees must be in a paid employment status on the calendar date of the holiday, regardless of the date observed, to be eligible for full holiday pay.

**University holidays for all new employees will be earned on a pro-rata basis. Persons whose employment begins on or after January 1 would be entitled to three (3) days. Those whose employment begins on or after March 1 would earn two (2) days. Those whose employment begins on or after May 1 would earn one (1) day.

**Employees hired after July 1, 2024, are NOT eligible for University Holidays.

**Employees who leave the university prior to December 25 would forfeit all unused university holidays.
