I am a Nationally Certified Counselor with over 20 years of experience in Career Services. I have a passion for diversity and inclusion and have presented regionally and nationally on topics such as "How to Help Diverse Populations in the Workplace," "B'More than Your Race in the Workplace," and "Infusing Hope for College Students with Asperger’s Syndrome: Preparation for the World of Work." I co-created the Under the Surface Series: Working While Black, which received the Innovative Program Award from the Maryland College Personnel Association (MCPA) and was a finalist for the NACE Innovations Excellence Award for Diversity in 2011. I also co-led the first NACE HBCU Summit in 2021, which resulted in free three-year memberships for all HBCUs.

I am deeply committed to supporting undocumented students, advocating for equitable access to career resources, and ensuring that their unique challenges are addressed. I have played a pivotal role in creating and developing the UndocuBear Care Team at Morgan State University, a dedicated initiative aimed at providing comprehensive support for undocumented students and their families. Through this initiative, I am working to establish an emergency fund for undocumented students and advocating for institutional policies that recognize ITINs as a valid form of identification. Our efforts are reducing barriers and creating a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all students. Key to our initiative is listening to and responding to the concerns of our students, ensuring their voices guide our work.

I also serve on multiple university committees that focus on reducing barriers, creating pathways, enriching the college experience, and making graduation attainable for all students. I truly enjoy working with students and helping them achieve their career goals, but I am even more concerned with ensuring that they are treated fairly and feel welcomed. Creating an environment where every student feels supported and valued is my top priority, as I believe that a sense of belonging is essential to their success both academically and professionally.
