Office of Undergraduate Admission & Recruitment

Alternative Admission Programs

Here at Morgan, our mission is to offer undergraduate programs in a comprehensive range of disciplines. Morgan works to provide access to a broad cross‐section of the population seeking an undergraduate degree, including a representative number of at‐risk students. Therefore, in keeping with our mission, the Office of Undergraduate Admission and Recruitment has two alternative admission programs that students may consider.

CASA Academy

CASA Academy is a five-week residential alternative admissions program coordinated by the Center for Academic Success and Achievement (CASA) at Morgan State University. It is designed to ease the transition from high school to college for participants whose academic profile and performance suggest the need for early intervention to improve their potential for success in college. Transitioning high school students are referred to participate in CASA Academy by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Students must apply to Morgan State University in order to be referred to CASA Academy.

Connect Program

If you have applied to Morgan State University but were not admissible based on your high school GPA and standardized test scores, there is a viable alternative designed just for you! Your present academic record may not be a true indication of your ability or potential. That’s where the Morgan State University Connect Program comes in! The Connect Program is intended for applicants who are Maryland residents.

The Connect Program is a bridge from the 16 Maryland Community Colleges to Morgan State University.

Pathways Program

As a Pathways program participant, you will begin your college career at a local community college of your choosing by enrolling in courses you will later transfer to Morgan*.  While studying at the community college, Pathways program participants will be invited to experience campus culture at Morgan State through a series of curated events designed to allow program participants to engage with MSU students, faculty, and staff. Pathways participants must attend at least one offering per semester. The Pathways Program is intended for applicants outside Maryland or Washington, DC.
