Military Affiliated Students - Online Orientation
Welcome to the Veterans Engagement Services Orientation and Information Session webpage. Congratulations! You are on the right track to enhancing your career by taking advantage of the endless learning opportunities, personal and professional growth experiences, inspiring resources, and interactive services offered at Morgan State University.
As a military-affiliated student, you may be eligible for additional services to include the Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, or Maryland Higher Education Commission military benefits and alternative funding options. As a new incoming freshman, transfer, or continuing student veteran you must register with the Veterans Engagement Services team each semester by completing our online Military Funding Request Form. This form will allow our team to review your request to determine the best course of action based on the benefits you may be entitled to that assist with paying for your education.
If you are a service member (active duty, reserves, or retired), an Air/Army National Guard member, a spouse, a dependent, or participating in the MSU ROTC Military Science Program, the Veterans Engagement Service team is your main point of contact for everything military.
The VES area is responsible for certifying VA/DoD benefits for eligible service members (active or retired), spouses, and dependents, as well as, assisting our MSU ROTC Military Science Program participants with university-wide resource assistance and alternative educational funding guidance. To get you started the VES team will refer you to log into your MSU WEBSIS account to access our VES Military Orientation course. This course will introduce you to the Veterans Engagement Services team and the services that we provide, in addition to any VA/DoD educational benefit processes, Federal and State military funding options, ROTC funding programs along with any alternative military funding opportunities available to you while you matriculate. Once you have completed the course you will have a better understanding of the VES office process, how your military funding works, and the best practices to ensure that you are maximizing your benefit usage while matriculating through your academic program. Speak with your VES representatives today by emailing veterans@morgan.edu on how to get started.
