Financial Information
The required financial information must be submitted before an I-20 can be issued for a student. While international students are not eligible for federal aid, they are able to receive institutional aid and scholarships. Below is a list of the required financial documentation.
Notarized Affidavit of Support
A notarized affidavit of support from the person(s) who will be financially supporting you while you study at Morgan State University must be submitted in order to receive an I-20. We must receive the original notarized document. No copies or emails will be accepted. You may submit more than one notarized bank statement if your support will come from more than one person.
The notarized affidavit of support may either be submitted as a typed letter or a completed form (Form I-134). The affidavit of support must be notarized.
Current Bank Statement(s)
An official bank statement of the person(s) supporting you must be submitted in order to receive an I-20. The bank statement must be no more than three months old and must show sufficient funds to cover the cost of tuition, fees, room and board. You may submit more than one official bank statement to cover these cost.
Submitted bank statements must show a minimum amount of $30,513 USD for each student attending Morgan State University. This amount includes $17,965 USD for tuition and fees and $12,548 for living expenses. The amount is subject to change without notice.
The bank statement must be submitted as a one page document stating who owns the account and amount of available funds in the account. The bank statement must be stamped and signed by a bank official. We must receive the original document. No copies or emails will be accepted.
Financial Certificate
A completed financial certificate must be submitted in order to receive an I-20. The financial certificate may completed and uploaded to the online application.
Note:
Applicants who have a financial guarantee do not need to submit an affidavit of support or bank statement. A completed financial certificate is still required.
