Scholarship Opportunities
The SMARTER Scholarship
The NTC offers two scholarships through the SMARTER Center, a regional university transportation center administered by Morgan State. The scholarships are awarded to one undergraduate student and one graduate student each year, covering the full tuition costs incurred by the student. These scholarships are available to transportation students who meet the following criteria:
- A U.S. citizen or green card holder who completed high school in the United States.
- Has a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Is a full-time student
- Has completed a transportation-related report, project, or paper, and
- has unconditional acceptance for undergraduate or graduate study in any of the following programs in transportation or a transportation-related program.
Interested students should apply using the google form linked here. Applicants must provide a resume, a recent copy of their transcripts, and a SMARTER Scholarship application form using the document upload tools provided in the form.
The Nicole Washington Memorial Scholarship
The Baltimore Chapter of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) offers the Nicole Washington Memorial Scholarship to support a female-identifying student at Morgan State University. This scholarship celebrates Nicole Washington's legacy by aiding students in Civil or Transportation Systems Engineering.
Applicants must:
- Be a returning Morgan State University student, enrolled full-time in Civil or Transportation Systems Engineering.
- Be pursuing their first undergraduate degree.
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, and a Maryland residentt
- Have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Show interest in the transportation profession.
- Demonstrate community involvement and a commitment to societal contributions.
- Volunteer at one WTS event.
