Biography:
With over three decades of experience as an Allied Member of the ASID Washington/Metro Chapter (#37), I have honed my skills in interior design and design education. Educated locally, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Howard University (1989-1992) and a Master of Fine Arts from Marymount University (2003-2006).
My career has spanned government, corporate, and institutional sectors, working on projects such as federal sites, corporate offices, and healthcare facilities. My project experience includes office moves, space planning, site surveys, construction documentation, GSA vendor coordination, and contractor management. As an experienced AutoCAD operator, I have leveraged Autodesk software for two decades to create detailed designs and documentation.
Dedicated to professional development, I am a LEED Green Associate and have pursued project management training. I have also volunteered with the Neighborhood Design Center in Prince George’s County, contributing to building revitalization and educational programs.
As an educator, I have taught interior design students at multiple junior colleges and universities, focusing on Autodesk software and design principles. Currently, I serve as an Assistant Professor at Morgan State University's School of Architecture and Planning in the Bachelor of Science Interior Design program.
