External Advisory Board

The roles of the External Advisory Committee will include:

1. Reviewing reports in order to provide perspective on the overall direction of the project
2. Providing advice to the principal investigators and lead faculty, as well as providing input to university officials
3. Facilitating access to networks of colleagues, thus expanding the network for collaborations and the available resources
4. Assisting in identifying mentors and collaborators by connecting to outside organizations and scholars

The External Advisory Committee will meet in person once annually.

• Dr. Kim Nickerson, Assistant Dean for Diversity, University of Maryland, College Park
• Dr. N. Joyce Payne, Founder/Sr. International Affairs & STEM Advisor to the President, Thurgood Marshall College Fund
• Dr. Joel Schildbach, Professor and KSAS Vice Dean for Undergraduate Studies, Johns Hopkins University
• Dr. Jennifer Swann, Professor, Biological Sciences, Lehigh University
