Accounting Club / NABA Chapter

The National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. is a nationwide professional association with the primary purpose of developing, encouraging and serving as a resource for greater participation by African-Americans and other minorities in the accounting and finance professions. The organization seeks to address the professional needs of its members and to build leaders that shape the future of the accounting and finance professions. Since 1969, the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. has been the leader in expanding the influence of minority professionals in the fields of accounting and finance.

The mission of the MSU student chapter of NABA (accounting club) is to promote study and understanding of the social, psychological, and economic implications of accounting through research, discussion, publications, and other appropriate means. This mission will be accomplished through workshops, seminars, internships, and attendance at conferences. The organization seeks to:

  • Keep its members abreast of changes within the accounting industry.
  • Keep its members informed of internship, career placement and scholarship opportunities.
  • Provide an environment conducive to personal and professional development.
  • Promote the accounting industry to MSU students and graduating seniors at local high schools.
  • Play a vital role in communication between MSU accounting majors, the national office of NABA and the MSU faculty.
