Program Features
The Women's and Gender Studies Program is committed to:
- Offering courses that speak to the conditions of women historically and in modern society across the globe
- Offering student symposia on intersectionality
- Presenting a community- and university-wide Women's History Month Program
- Coordinating the Women's History Convocation
- Facilitating communication and collaboration among faculty and students working on women's studies and gender studies and issues important to and about women's lives
- Maintaining an archive of films/videos, books, and personal papers/photographs which document the history of notable women of Morgan State University, Baltimore, and Maryland at large
- Providing outreach to the community through public lectures and readings, a colloquium series, film series, a bi-annual newsletter, a website, and periodic conferences focused on women studies, gender, and sexuality
