Vanity URLs
Good information architecture does not always translate to simple URLs. Simplified URLs can help, because honestly..
www.morgan.edu/institutional-advancement/public-relations-and-strategic-communications/what-we-do/web-services/
..won't fit on a postcard.
Request a Vanity URL
You may request, from websupport@morgan.edu, a shorter "vanity" URL for your website or webpage, suitable for use in print, web and verbal communications. This vanity URL will redirect visitors to the full address.
Please keep in mind that, in order to support this service for numerous sites and pages, we must maintain strict guidelines.
Guidelines for Vanity URL Requests
- Each vanity name must link to a page on www.morgan.edu
- Your department, office or program may request a "root" vanity URL in the form:
www.morgan.edu/shortname
e.g., www.morgan.edu/pr - You may request subsidiary vanity URLs for deeper links, in the form:
www.morgan.edu/shortname/deeplink
e.g., www.morgan.edu/pr/webservices
*Request for Vanity URLs does not guarantee approval, and will be subject to review prior to authorization.
