JP Morgan Chase Gives $25k for Student Success
In a time when students are impacted the most by uncertainty, JP Morgan Chase & Co. continues to support our STEM HBCU students through philanthropic actions. Since 2018, partners from JP Morgan Chase have worked with the SCMNS Office of Student Success and Recruitment under Director Mr. Claton Lewis to strategically empower and support students. The result has been that dozens of students have been and continue to be introduced to career readiness opportunities through internships, job placement, technology training and professional development activities.
This partnership has allowed Morgan State University to be the only HBCU nationally to host JP Morgan Chase's Technology Showcase in 2019. Although 2020's Tech Showcase was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, JP Morgan Chase has continued to demonstrate their commitment to student development at Morgan through other forms of outreach and support.
JP Morgan Chase's $25,000 donation to the SCMNS Office of Student Success and Recruitment is the second philanthropic gift in three years to support our STEM students. Under this partnership, there has been an increased focus on supporting women in computer science, mentorship initiatives and direct financial assistance to students.
