Morgan State Receives $600,000 Grant for Patuxent Environmental Aquatic Research Laboratory Program
Morgan State University is in the aquaculture business, and its Patuxent Environmental Aquatic Research Laboratory program was just awarded more than $600,000. The money will go toward aquaculture growth and to address the urban coastline climate.

Researchers at Morgan State University’s Patuxent Environmental and Aquatic Research Laboratory (PEARL) were awarded more than $600,000 in funding through two grants from the Maryland Sea Grant (MDSG) program to continue its research to improve Maryland’s aquaculture’s vitality and its urban coastlines’ sustainability.
How a Baltimore Neuroscience Study is Rewriting Black America’s Relationship with Medical Research
The study, published in the journal Nature Neuroscience last month, is the first major undertaking from the African Ancestry Neuroscience Research Initiative — a collaboration between Morgan State University, a historically Black research university in Baltimore, the Lieber Institute for Brain Development, and local community leaders.
