The Professional Research Experience Program (PREP) was created by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) with the goal of providing valuable laboratory experience and financial assistance to undergraduates, recent graduates, graduate students, postdocs, and faculty. The program is intended to assure continued growth and progress of a highly skilled science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) workforce in the United States.
The Hopkins-Morgan HBCU Consortium (HMHC) provides opportunities for students, recent graduates, postdocs and faculty to conduct research in partnership with NIST scientists through the NIST Gaithersburg Campus. In addition to paid research positions, graduate students are eligible for tuition assistance. Our HBCU Consortium makes opportunities available to participants from Morgan State University, Bowie State University, Coppin State University, North Carolina A&T University, Tuskegee University, and University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
