Division of Research & Economic Development
By action of the Maryland Legislature, the University has been designated as Maryland's Preeminent Public Urban Research University, with the responsibility of addressing the needs of residents, schools, and organizations within the Baltimore Metropolitan Area.
The Division of Research and Economic Development (D-RED) works to enhance Morgan's research capacity by providing infrastructure to support increasing external research funding, ensuring compliance with research-related laws and regulations, coordinating research programs and centers that span several schools, and facilitating the commercialization of faculty and student-generated intellectual property.
We aim to be a well-respected, well-recognized, and well-rounded research university while remaining true to our mission of serving the underserved and nurturing the students who need us the most.
