r. Bronner is currently Professor in the Department of Public Health in the School of Community Health and Policy.

Dr. Bronner has conducted research on how to increase breast feeding among African-American women as well as involving men in the promotion of breast-feeding and family health. More than 150,000 packages of promotional materials developed from this initiative have been distributed and used in programs such as WIC. She conducted one of the first "Breastfeeding Peer Counselor" evaluations. As the Director of the Center for Male and Family Research and Resources, she assessed the quality of care at the nation's first free men's health clinic in Baltimore. She was Director of the MSU Complementary and Alternative Medicine Training Center funded by NIH for more than five years. She has also conducted research on intervention strategies to decrease obesity and how to live healthy lifestyles and has served as the principal investigator of the Nutritional Assessment of Maryland School Children study.

Dr. Bronner is the author of numerous publications including Food Counts in the African American Community: Chart Book 2001. Other research projects: the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute project working with inner-city communities on increasing awareness of cardiovascular health; served as Co-Principal Investigator on a project funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention implemented in African American churches in Baltimore, Maryland. The overall objective of her work is to develop methods to help African American women, men and families conduct self-assessments and make lifestyle choices for achieving and maintaining a "healthy weight". She received the National Honor Society's Outstanding Educator Award and many other awards for educational achievement. Dr. Bronner has served on the U.S. Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (2005), the Secretary's Advisory Committee on Infant Mortality and the DHHS Maternal and Child Health Bureau Review Panel, the Institute of Medicine (IOM) - Food and Nutrition Advisory Board for two terms, and the Board of Editors of the Journal of the American Dietetic Association. She currently serves on Chartwell's National Advisory Board and McDonald's Global Advisory Board. Dr Bronner was recently appointed to Baltimore's B'More for Healthy Babies Advisory Board and Dannon's Nutrition Advisory board.
