Rules for Abstract Submission

RULES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

All abstracts must be received on or before 5:00pm on Friday, March 28, 2025NO ABSTRACTS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DEADLINE.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Your RESEARCH MENTOR MUST REVIEW and APPROVE YOUR ABSTRACT PRIOR TO YOUR SUBMISSION.
  • THE ABSTRACT REGISTRATION FORM WILL ONLY ALLOW YOU TO SUBMIT ONLINE ONLY ONCE. PLEASE BE SURE THAT YOUR FIRST SUBMISSION IS THE CORRECT SUBMISSION.
  • ONCE YOUR ABSTRACT IS SUBMITTED, AN AUTO EMAIL IS SENT TO YOU RESEARCH MENTOR FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PRESENT YOUR ABSTRACT WITHOUT YOUR RESEARCH MENTOR'S APPROVAL.

Upon completion of the review process, notification of abstract selection for presentation will be forwarded by email on or before Monday, April 4, 2025.

All abstracts will be reviewed. The review Committee reserves the right to limit the number of abstracts for ORAL, POSTER, or 3MT presentations.

The Abstract/Registration Form must be completed and include the abstract as an attachment (MS WORD document only).

Abstracts must be no longer than 250 words and contain all of the components listed. Please review the ABSTRACT FORMAT/ SAMPLE ABSTRACT for formatting and content.

Using the Topic Categories on the Abstract/Registration Form, indicate which category best describes your research area.

  • Chemistry
  • Computer Science 
  • Education
  • Engineering 
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Psychology
  • Social Science
  • Sociology
  • Sustainability & Design
  • Other

Using the Presentation Categories on the Abstract Submission and Registration Form, indicate the type of presentation. For presentations that require a computer, please note in the Abstract Submission and Registration Form if a computer will be used in the presentation. You must provide your own computer if you plan to use it for demonstration purposes.

Presentation Categories:

Oral presentation (virtual only)
Poster Presentation (in person only)
Computer Presentation (will be displayed with poster presentations)  (in person only)                                                                          3MT Competition (Oral Presentation) GRADUATE STUDENTS ONLY (in person only)

Once your abstract is submitted, it will be sent to your mentor (listed on the registration form) for final approval. You will not be allowed to present if your mentor does not provide approval.
