Dr. Isuk is Director of Research Compliance and Chief of Staff to the Vice President for Research and Economic Development. He has responsibilities for IRB administration; guidance on application of Federal/State laws, regulations, and guidelines, as well as university policies relating to human subjects research; coordination of training on research integrity, research misconduct and export control. He is also involved in research administration policies development; pre-award activities (proposal development/submission and interpretation of sponsor guidelines), and post-award briefing of new award recipients.

Dr. Isuk joined Morgan as an Assistant Professor of Geology in 1979 after completing postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Iowa and CUNY. At Morgan, he developed and taught graduate courses in Earth and Planetary Science, as well as upper level undergraduate courses in petrology, mineralogy, geochemistry and general geology. He moved from the academic to the administration line when he was appointed to become founding Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research (OSPR) in 1988. In OSPR, he has served in many roles as a research administrator to promote the growth of the University's research enterprise and in the process, has accumulated more than three decades of varied professional experience. Over the years, he received funding from a variety of sponsors including the NSF, NIH, DoE, DoD, DOI, NASA, as well as nongovernmental sources to support his research and training initiatives, and he has also helped numerous faculty win funding from federal and non-federal sponsors to support their individual research endeavors.

Dr. Isuk holds a Ph.D. in Geology/Geochemistry from the University of Iowa, M.A. in Geology from Brooklyn College CUNY and B.Sc. in Chemistry and Geology from Fourah Bay College University of Sierra Leone. He was an NIH Extramural Associate (EA) in sponsored research administration 2000.
