Applied Liberal Studies
Changing Majors
One of the benefits of the Applied Liberal Studies major is that it allows you the flexibility to pivot in your academic career without losing time.
Often, when students change their major multiple times they end up having to start over in a brand new program. The Applied Liberal Studies program was designed to benefit students who may want to pivot in both their academic and professional careers.
The Applied Liberal Studies program is a flexible and multidisciplinary program. We can use the credits you have taken in another major and apply them to your major in the Applied Liberal Studies program. This means that when you switch, you don't have to start all over!
Perhaps you are interested in multiple subjects but you don't have the time or the financial resources to double major. The Applied Liberal Studies program allows students (along with their advisor) to build a major that combines multiple disciplines. It's a major that is tailormade for you!
This program was made to give students choice, flexibility, and ultimately, control over their own education.
The first step in finding out if the Applied Liberal Studies program is a good fit for you is to set up an appointment with an ALS advisor. We are happy to see if the program is a good fit for you!
