Teaching and Research Interests
Dr. Farid Saydee's teaching and research interests center on curriculum design and transformative
learning, particularly in the field of second language acquisition. His work emphasizes the development
and implementation of curricula that facilitate high-order thinking, learner autonomy, and cultural
empathy. Drawing on years of experience managing and directing language programs, Dr. Saydee is
dedicated to creating robust, standards-based instructional materials tailored to diverse linguistic
contexts, including languages like Pashto, Persian-Dari, and Persian-Farsi.
As an educator and researcher, Dr. Saydee is passionate about improving language instruction through
innovative pedagogies that are rooted in real-world applications. His research explores the intersection
of language proficiency and transformative learning, focusing on how language education can empower
students to engage critically with the world. Through his various academic and consultancy roles, he has
developed courses, textbooks, and assessment tools that support learners at all proficiency levels, from
novice to advanced. Additionally, his research delves into the efficacy of action research and its role in
refining language teaching methodologies.
Dr. Saydee's commitment to education is evident in his scholarly contributions, which include peer-
reviewed publications and book chapters that address language maintenance, curriculum design, and
instructional best practices.
