Department of Sociology & Anthropology
Careers, Internships, and Professional Development
Internships
No amount of classroom training can replace the real world, hands-on experience that you will acquire in a professional internship. Consequently, the Department makes provision for majors to have hands-on experience at a number of off-campus agencies. Students, however, are not permitted to be paid if they take the Internship course (SOCI 498).
If you would like to register for the Internship course (SOCI 498), see a member of the Sociology Department faculty. You may not register for this course without prior approval from a faculty member who will conduct the internship course for you and serve as your on-campus internship advisor. Ultimately, the Chair must approve your registration in SOCI 498.
If you would like to search for a paid or unpaid internship to complete on your own, use our Sociology Department Catalog of Student Opportunities as a resource guide to assist you.
