Digital Media Center
The Digital Media Center (DMC) under the direction of Luther Moore plays critical roles in both the instructional program of SGJC and the general university community. It supports the curriculum and production needs by providing equipment, training and technical support. It serves the university community by recording and live streaming events held by the university as a whole and by individual units.
During the 2017-2018 academic year, the DMC provided services for 13 events for SGJC. These ranged from the Jarrett Medal Award Ceremony at the National Press Club in September to panel discussions following the screenings of SGJC's Cuba documentary, "Behind the Veil" in November and of Stanley Nelson's documentary Tell Them We Are Rising in December.
In addition to the services provided to SGJC and its academic programs, the DMC provided recording, live streaming and other services for 59 university events. These included three MSU Commencement ceremonies, the university convocations and the President's Distinguished Speakers Series. The DMC also recorded or streamed events for a wide variety of units that included, among others, the Athletic Department, the School of Business and the Office of Human Resources.
