Biography:
Archana Sharma is an Associate Professor in the Graduate Landscape Architecture Program. She holds a PhD from the National University of Singapore, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture from CEPT University, and a Bachelors in Architecture from Maharaja Sayajirao University. Formerly, she was faculty in the College of Architecture & Design at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Professor Sharma's teaching and research focused on the development of strategies and policies for sustainable and resilient design. She has worked with local governments on sustainability plans, including the Baltimore City Green Network, a Small Area Plan for Easton, and Pine Street Community Small Area Plan, Cambridge. She has also mentored student teams in the area of sustainable design, including the 2015 Maryland Sustainable Growth Challenge Annual Collegiate Competition organized by Maryland State Department of Planning and Sustainable Growth Commission. From 2011-2013, Professor Sharma served on ASLA's Committee on Education.
