Hot Work Permit
The OSHE department shall inspect the area before approval is granted for all hot work permits as required per the code. Failure to submit a hot work permit shall result in the immediate issue of cease and desist citation. Fire watch shall be identified and the fire extinguishing element shall be inspected and shall remain on the work site the entire duration while work is ongoing. Hot Work Permit

Before cutting or welding is permitted, the area shall be inspected by the individual responsible for authorizing cutting and welding operations. He shall designate precautions to be followed in granting authorization to proceed preferably in the form of a written permit. Permit approval is required by the OSHE department prior to all hot work operations on campus. The permit, at a minimum, shall outline the basic requirements for the intended work as required by 1910.252 and approved by a university authority prior to work being conducted. |
