Dr. Cummings is primarily interested in ancient Greek philosophy and ethics. She wrote her dissertation on Aristotle’s concept of akrasia (lack of self-control). She is now working on defending various popular media, e.g., horror films and violent video games. Dr. Cummings has taught courses on ancient Greek philosophy, ethics, logic, epistemology, and race/class/gender. She has been an instructor at Towson University, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Florida.
