Responsible Conduct of Research & Ethics Workshops
Beginning in Fall 2021, we piloted a redesigned research ethics, integrity, and compliance education program. Specifically, the two-day workshop, which is co-facilitated by subject matter experts such as Dr. Adil Shamoo, was designed to streamline research training for undergraduates regardless of their affiliation with a research-based scholars program. We also saw the opportunity to extend the workshop to Morgan graduate students, as the structured activities and multidisciplinary discussion will undoubtedly enhance their research training and knowledge. Some of the interactive topics coverered include:
- laboratory etiquette and safety,
- management of research data and lab notebooks,
- ethical considerations of research, and
- IRB, IACUC, and CITI.
The virtual workshop is split into two parts on separate days and offered once each academic semester. Successful completion requires that students participate in both parts.
