Morgan’s Schools of Computer Mathematical & Natural Sciences and Engineering Hosts JPMorgan Chase Technology Showcase

On October 4, JPMorgan Chase in collaboration with Morgan State University’s School of Computer Mathematical and Natural Sciences (SCMNS) and the Clarence M. Mitchell, Jr. School of Engineering put on a Technology Showcase to attract students interested in software engineering. The event was geared toward demonstrating how technologists collaborate to create innovative solutions that impact customers, clients and businesses around the world with cutting-edge trading platforms, digital payments and hybrid cloud solutions. More importantly, students got a glimpse into how JPMorgan Chase is inspiring change in our communities through its Technology for Social Good initiatives.

Nearly 140 students were engaged with the hopes that some would apply for JPMorgan Chase’s Software Engineer Program. Both JPMorgan Chase its MSU STEM partners are excited and looking forward to collaborating further in the future. The two will continue to collaborate through future career-related events on Morgan’s campus.

“This was a valuable event for our students to get a glimpse into how a major company uses technology to effect change,” said Claton Lewis, SCMNS director for Student Success and Recruitment. “Anytime you can show how current skills learned in the classroom through computer science, engineering or mathematics can be applied in the industry, it is a win-win.”
