Middle School Music Teacher and Morgan Alum Named Baltimore City's Teacher of the Year
A middle school music teacher was surprised Wednesday as Baltimore City Public Schools' 2023 teacher of the year. Jared Perry, a music teacher at Booker T. Washington Middle School for the Arts, was presented the award by Baltimore City Public Schools CEO Sonja Santelises. Perry, a Morgan State University graduate, said collaboration with other educators made him the teacher he is today, and for the past six years, college students have been observing him in the classroom.
