Position: Assistant Professor of Information Science and Systems
The Earl G Graves School of Business and Management at Morgan State University seeks to fill several tenure-track positions in the Department of Information Science and Systems at the Assistant level with specializations in Data Analytics, Sports Analytics, Cybersecurity, AI, Supply Chain Management, in August 2024 or earlier.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate (by August 2024) in Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related disciplines with experience in the following area: Data Analytics, Sports and Gaming Analytics, Cybersecurity policy, Artificial Intelligence, Supply Chain Management. The candidate should have a demonstrated record of quality research and the potential for excellence in teaching. Prior work experiences that use related skills are desirable, though not necessary.
Responsibilities:
This faculty position will serve the mission of Morgan State University and the Earl G Graves School of Business and Management through the activities of teaching, intellectual contributions, and service. The person holding this position will be responsible for developing and teaching online and face-to-face undergraduate and graduate level courses in one of the following areas: supply chain, cybersecurity, data analytics, artificial intelligence for business, information systems or project management for PhD, MBA, MS and BS degrees. The candidate will conduct research in the discipline in which they are hired, leading to publishing in refereed journals and presenting the research in local, national and international conferences and serve as a member of professional organizations. The candidate will participate in Department, School, and University committees. Teaching assignments will likely include courses in faculty discipline area such as Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Supply Chain Management, electives, management information systems, and depending on background and qualifications, may include courses in FinTech, systems analysis and design, project management, database, and enterprise information systems (SAP). Being knowledgeable in discipline specific technical tool-sets is critical. Engagement in multidisciplinary work with faculty with very diverse backgrounds is anticipated. The faculty will likely collaborate with FinTech Center, or may be part of the Sports Gaming Research Center activities. Securing grants with federal agencies will result in reduced teaching load.

MSU has a R2 Carnegie Research designation and is aspiring towards R1 classification by 2030. The AACSB accredited Earl G Graves School of Business and Management offers Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees. The school offers ten (10) undergraduate programs, six (6) masters programs and a doctoral program with specialization in Information Systems, Accounting, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Logistics Management, and Business Administration. The Department of Information Science and Systems offers BS in Supply Chain Management, BS in Information Systems, BS in Cybersecurity Intelligence Management, MS in Project Management, MS in Data Analytics & Visualization, certificate in Project Management and offers courses that lead to an MBA degree as well as a PhD degree with an Information Systems track as well as a concentration in Supply Chain and Logistics Management. The Project Management programs are GAC accredited by PMI. as a concentration is pending.
Salary: Salary is competitive.
