Undergraduate Studies

In addition to meeting the requirements below, students must also complete six credits in the Liberal Arts Core and have with no outstanding grades below "C" in the major or required supporting courses.  Major courses are distributed among skill levels and geographical areas, allowing a wide variety of historical content and approaches. Majors will select a track in either General or African/African-American history; Pre-Law; or International History and Diplomacy:

General History (57 credit hours): Required courses +

• 9 hours from Division 2, and 12 hours from Division 1, 2, or 3
• 6 hours in a foreign language (two sequential courses in the same language)
• 9 hours of supporting courses (confer with departmental advisor or chairperson)

African/African-American History (60 credit hours): Required courses +
