Reggie Phoenix, a native New Yorker, is an Associate Professor of Theatre at Morgan State. He received his B.A. in Theater Arts from Metropolitan State University in Minneapolis, MN and an MFA in Acting/Directing from Rutgers University's Mason Gross School of the Arts. Previously he was Coordinator of the B.A. Theatre program at Salve Regina University and Director of Acting at Metropolitan State University. He has been a professional theatre artist for over three decades. He has appeared on Broadway, Off-Broadway, in National and International tours, and regional theaters all over the country. He has worked with multiple Tony Award winning directors Michael Bennett (A Chorus Line-Broadway and 6 national tours, Dreamgirls- National tour), Tommy Tune (Grand Hotel- First national tour), Hal Prince and Susan Stroman (Show Boat- First national tour) among many others. Favorite directing credits include The Elephant Man, The Fantasticks, Beast on the Moon, Spring Awakening, Doubt, Antigone and RENT among many others.
