Mezzo-soprano and Baltimore native, Patricia Hengen has performed in numerous venues in the Mid-Atlantic region. In 2023, she was seen in Annapolis Opera’s production of Die Zauberflöte as the Dreite Knäbe, and represented the North Carolina region in the Metropolitan Opera’s Laffont Competition. Other recent roles include Aunt Dee/Drosselmeyer (The Nutcracker), Florinda (Into the Woods), Annina (La Traviata), and Le Prince Charmant (Cendrillon). Past performances include La Boheme, Carmen, Madama Butterfly, South Pacific, Le Nozze di Figaro, Hairspray: In Concert, and Tosca. She has appeared as a soloist with the Baltimore Symphony, the City Choir of Washington under the direction of Grammy award-winning conductor Robert Shafer, and Baltimore Choral Arts Society, where she is a Vocal Fellow. Ms. Hengen is a graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory and a member of the Voice Faculty at the Baltimore School for the Arts.
