Karl Stewart serves as Supervisor of Visual and Performing Arts for Carroll County Public Schools. In addition to his duties for Carroll County Public Schools, he serves as part-time Adjunct Faculty for Morgan State University. Formerly, he was the Assistant Band Director for the Morgan State University Band program, Music Specialist and Music Supervisor in the Office of Music for Baltimore County Public Schools; and Director of Bands and Music Department Chair at Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts where he conducted the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, Marching Band, Musical Pit Orchestra and taught Music Theory, Class Piano, and Jazz History. His ensembles consistently earned superior ratings at the district, state, and national festivals.

 

Mr. Stewart received his Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Morgan State University, Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola College (now Loyola University), and Master of Arts in Music from Morgan State University. Mr. Stewart is a member of the National Association for Music Educators, Maryland Music Educators Association, and Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. He is also a member of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.

 

Mr. Stewart remains active as an educator, guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician.
