I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at the Morgan State University (MSU). With over ten years of teaching experience, I have worked in three countries: India, Taiwan and USA. My teaching expertise is the area of fashion marketing, merchandising, retailing, sourcing and supply chain management. My goal as an educator is to ‘educate, love and Inspire’. I aim not only to nurture strong professionals but also to foster confident individual who can contribute to developing a robust community.
My research focuses on sustainability in textile and apparel supply chain, retail strategies, and consumer behavior in omnichannel settings. My research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management, Journal of Global Fashion Marketing, International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education etc. I regularly present (oral and poster) my research outcomes in leading conferences such as International Textile and Apparel Association (ITAA), American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) etc. I use both, qualitative and quantitative research techniques to conduct research. I had received several research grants from reputed institutions like US Department of Agriculture, Cotton Incorporated etc.
Along with research and teaching, I am a strong advocate of inclusive excellence, diversity, equity and inclusion in both higher education and the industry.
