Department of English & Language Arts
The Graduate Program
The Department of English and Language Arts offers two graduate degree programs - the Master of Arts (MA) and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) - with a number of concentrations, making our programs suitable for a variety of scholars looking to expand their knowledge and develop their careers in research, teaching, and writing fields. Our small, selective graduate programs offer training in all traditional fields of literary study, as well as in multicultural and gender studies, language and professional writing, creative writing, film and screenwriting, visual and digital storytelling, and other theoretical and interdisciplinary fields that cross national and chronological boundaries. Each year we admit scholars with a variety of skills, backgrounds, and experiences to join us as they pursue these degrees. We invite you to explore our programs!
For additional information about applying, funding or the scope of our graduate programs, please contact the English Department directly at (443) 885-3165, or Dr. Adele Newson-Horst at adele.newsonhorst@morgan.edu.
