Sustainable Urban Communities
Curriculum Options
Our 15-credit flexible curriculum consists of six (6) credits of core courses, six (6) credits in an area of concentration, and three (3) credits of electives select from outside your area of concentration.
Core courses introduce concepts, issues, terminology and definitions; historical context and precedent; complexities of urban sustainability as well as principles of sustainable design and best practices. Core courses enable you to explore various aspects of urban sustainability.
Optional areas of concentration in planning & policy, design & construction, and environment & nature enable you to delve deeper into aspects of urban sustainability that align with your interests. Areas of concentration form the basis for your terminal capstone project.
Electives enable you to obtain a multi-disciplinary perspective on urban sustainability, and enhance the practicality and comprehensiveness of your capstone project.
