Transfer Credits

Morgan Completes You wants to meet you where you are!

The Transfer Evaluation and Articulation team, situated within the Office of the Registrar at Morgan State University, examines official transcripts to assess the transferability of credits towards a degree at the university. The official transcripts you submitted as part of your admission application will undergo a thorough evaluation process, typically taking 10-20 business days to complete. You will be notified via email by the Transfer Evaluation and Articulation team once your transfer credits have been evaluated. You can then log in to Degree Works to view which credits have been applied to your degree. If you haven't received the transfer evaluation within 20 business days after your admission decision and all transcripts have been received, please feel free to inquire about the status of your evaluation by sending an email to transfer@morgan.edu.

It's crucial to understand that not all of your credits may be transferable or applicable to your specific degree program. In general, college-level courses completed at regionally accredited institutions will transfer, provided the course is similar in scope, content, and level to courses offered at Morgan State University and a grade of “D” or higher is earned. The acceptance of transfer courses and credits is contingent upon the accreditation status of the college or university during the student's enrollment. Morgan State University can accept a maximum of 90 credits from four-year institutions, AP, IB, Cambridge, CLEP, and other forms of Prior Learning Credit, or 70 credits from two-year institutions. All undergraduate degree candidates must complete their last 30 hours at Morgan State University. For the most detailed and comprehensive information about transfer credits, we strongly encourage you to visit the transfer credit policy and academic catalog.

Please note that “D” grades can not be used to meet major, minor, supplemental course, and certain general education requirements. This is an important consideration when planning your course selection and understanding how your transfer credits will contribute to your degree requirements.
