Bonita Brittingham has shown throughout her academic journey at Morgan State University, that the College of Interdisciplinary and Continuing Studies has played a crucial role in providing unwavering support and invaluable scholarship opportunities. During her time at Morgan State University, Bonita has achieved notable milestones, such as induction into the prestigious National Honor Society Alpha Sigma Lambda. As a caregiver, and a single mother balancing work and studies and also as an adult learner, Bonita has faced unique challenges. Juggling childcare and eldercare responsibilities alongside coursework requires strict planning and flexibility. Overcoming these challenges has taught her valuable lessons in time management, resilience, and the importance of seeking help when needed. These experiences have displayed her determination to achieve her educational goals and serve as a source of inspiration for overcoming future challenges. Engaging with professors and like-minded peers in challenging courses enriched Bonita’s learning experience. One standout moment was a course assignment that required creating a LinkedIn profile, which unexpectedly led to her current job placement. These experiences have taught Bonita the importance of networking and seizing opportunities, in both her academic journey and career development. After graduation, Bonita plans to pursue a Master's in Social Work at Morgan State University.
Bonita aspires to contribute to her community by addressing social issues and advocating for vulnerable populations, and pursuing a Master's in Social Work perfectly aligns with her long-term career goals and personal commitment to social justice and equity. Specializing in combating poverty, Bonita aims to make a meaningful impact in this field and contribute positively to society.
