Bernard Osher/Crankstart Scholarships
The Bernard Osher Scholarship Program
The Bernard Osher Scholarship Program provides scholarships to high achieving adult/non-traditional students. The first award to Morgan State University's Center for Continuing and Professional Studies in 2008 was to establish the Osher Reentry Scholarship Program for adult students. In 2011, as a result of the success of the program, The Bernard Osher Foundation provided a 1 million dollar endowed gift to continue the support of the Osher Reentry Scholarship Program. The scholarship is awarded annually to students who meet scholarship guidelines.
The Crankstart Foundation Scholarship Program
The Crankstart Foundation is a charitable organization started by Michael Moritz and his wife, Harriet. The Foundation primarily supports education but also impacts communities through arts & culture, as well as parks and human services. In 2016, the organization funded a scholarship program at Morgan State University, to support degree completion by adult learners. Since the initial award in 2016, the Crankstart Foundation has continued its support of non-traditional students by renewing the two-year agreement in 2018-2020 and in 2020-2021.
