Student Managed Investment Fund
The Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) is an innovative program providing students with unparalleled experiential learning in equity analysis and portfolio management. The SMIF, backed by an initial seed funding of $120,000, aims to equip students with practical skills that will not only distinguish them in the competitive world of finance but also prepare them for the challenges ahead.
The SMIF is offered to undergraduate students through the FIN 350—Fund Management course and Bloomberg Terminals will be utilized as the primary financial data tool. Students in the Fund will acquire skills in equity research, stock pitching, making decisions, and preparing investment and performance reports.
The Fund is led by a distinguished faculty and staff team: Fund Faculty Advisor Dr. Pritam Saha and Fund Program Manager Mr. George Micheni.
