Veterans Day Parade

Karim Njoya (Class of 2026), Dirichi Nwanegwo (Class of 2026), and Deandre Wright (Class of 2028), sophomore students in this photo, serve as the Color Guard and lead the Bear Battalion's march during Baltimore's 2023 Veterans Day Parade. At the end of their first year, all three of these students chose to attend Basic Combat Training (BCT) to achieve Basic Camp Credit. All three serve part-time in the Maryland Army National Guard while attending Morgan State University and ROTC. This is not a required path; these students have gone above and beyond the call to service. As first-years and sophomores, Karim Njoya, Dirichi Nwanegwo, and Deandre Wright have already experienced real-world leadership by performing, planning, and organizing Color Guard, Spirit Team, community service, recruiting, and Junior ROTC (JROTC) events across Baltimore. Their team has contributed more to JROTC programs and mentoring high school students than any other ROTC program in the state. Joining Morgan State ROTC is not just about joining the Army. It is the forge within which young adults become leaders of their community and their country. The Bear Battalion has a history of alumni who serve at the City, State, Congressional, and Senate levels.
