How To Apply For Housing

Before You Get Started


  • Your username and password (The first part of your Morgan email address in lowercase. ex. chjon2. your email password)
  • A valid Credit/Debit Card
  • Safari, Internet Explorer, Chrome or Firefox browser

Apply For Housing

  1. Go to
  2. Click on "Access the Student Housing Portal" located on the right column under the blue "Additional Links" section.
  3. Log in to the student housing portal using your University email address and password. Remember that your username is all lowercase ending after the number in your address. Your password is the same password used for your email. 
  4. Please select your respective application link. If you receive an error message, please select the other link. (screenshot)
  5. While completing your housing application, you will select two (2) building preferences, provide roommate compatibility information, and pay your $200 nonrefundable application fee.
  6. Remember, your application has not been submitted until you have clicked on the big red finish button at the end of the application. You will not be able to participate in roommate grouping, changing meal plans, or will be assigned housing without completing this step.

Special Note: The Office of Residence Life and Housing is committed to helping all students achieve academic success to the best of our ability. Keeping in line with our mission, we are implementing a new living-learning environment that will help us better serve students that are currently not meeting academic standards.

In support of your academic success, any student (Sophomore level and above) below the academic standard, will be automatically assigned to participate in the Academically Committed to Excellence (ACE) program. For more information, please click here.


Requesting A Roommate(s)

This step cannot be started until you submit your completed housing application.

  1. Determine who will be the "leader" out of your roommate group that will be responsible for managing the roommate grouping process.
  2. Have the leader go to
  3. Click on "Access the Student Housing Portal" located on the right column under the blue "Additional Links" section.
  4. Log in to the student housing portal using your University email address and password. 
  5. Select the roommate grouping link in your portal. 
  6. On the next screen you will see three options for roommate groups:
    • Freshman to Freshman
    • Upperclassmen to Upperclassmen
    • All classes (For Freshman and Upperclassman that want to be roommates)
  7. Select the option that applies to your group. 
  8. Click the green "Create Group" button and click the green "Invite" button to request group members.
  9. Enter your desired person's first and last name. If an individual has a common name, then you will have to enter their University ID #. Hit "select" once you found the right person.
  10. Repeat step 9 if you have multiple roommate requests.
  11. Once everyone is selected, click the next step button.
  12. You will see a summary screen which will include information on the people you have requested. After you have reviewed this information, click the big red "Finish" button to finalize your roommate pairing request. You have not officially completed roommate pairing until you click the "Finish" button.
  13. After the "Finish" button is selected, the other roommate group members will receive an email to their University email account informing them:
    • Who requested them as a roommate.
    • Roommate group type.
  14. Click the included link to begin the process of accepting the invitation.
  15. After clicking the link, the requested person will be directed to the student housing portal.
  16. They will have to select the group type that was indicated in the email, then they will see the option of either accepting or declining the invitation.
  17. After making their decision, they will be transferred to the confirmation page and will have the click "Finish" to finalize roommate grouping.

It is highly recommended that you complete this task sooner rather than later to have a greater chance of having your roommate grouping honored.
