Work Study & Part-Time Job Fair

Work Study & Part-Time Job Fair

Thursday, September 6, 2018

1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

University Student Center Ballroom

Students who are looking for work study jobs on-campus and part-time, flexible opportunities off campus are encouraged to attend. Employers from across campus and local businesses will be in attendance to share their opportunities with you. Many will interview students that day and some employers will extend job offers to students at the fair.

The Work Study Office and the Center for Career Development are excited to have students consider campus employment. Research shows that students who are connected to campus are more successful and more likely to continue enrollment and do well academically.

Below is a list of tips for the job fair:
• Dress to Impress
• Bring your resume.
• Bring your "week at a glance" schedule and available work hours.
• Bring the names, telephone numbers and email addresses for individuals you will list on applications as personal or employment references.
• To be paid by an employer, you must complete the Employment Verification Form ( I-9) with your employer. To complete the form you will need identity documents. Be sure to bring these documents with you to campus.
Documents needed for the I-9
Typically, in addition to a photo ID, (Driver's License or Student ID) the employee's social security card. If no social security card is readily available, an original or certified copy of a birth certificate is acceptable. A U.S. issued passport is acceptable for both the photo ID and verification that the employee is authorized to work in the US.

Campus partners, please send an email to Ms. Johnson if you are interested in participating. Invitations will be sent out in June.
