Welcome to the future. The School of Global Journalism and Communication is a vital gateway for students who want pursue a mass media career in the 21st century's global village.
We give our students the knowledge, skills, ethics and discipline they need to be heard above the din of the untrained voices that proliferate in social media and clog the spaces where journalists roam.
Our three departments - Multimedia Journalism, Multiplatform Production and Strategic Communication - are dynamic places of learning. They are supported by performance centers that provide our students seamless opportunities to put into practice in real-life settings the things they learn in the classroom.
In our global school, we use the latest technology to bring the world to our campus - and offer students opportunities to travel beyond the university to get an up-close look at some of the people and places they may soon encounter as mass media professionals.
This new approach to journalism and mass communication education is based on what medical school students experience at teaching hospitals where they not only are taught medicine, but also get to practice it under the close supervision of doctors and medical educators. This model puts the School of Global Journalism and Communication on the cutting edge of this change.
If you are a high school student - or the parent of one - I invite you to come to our campus for an up-close look at the exciting things we're doing at Morgan State University to "Grow the Future and Lead the World" in the teaching of journalism and mass communication.
