Dr. Seontaik Kim is an assistant professor in the Department of Business Administration - Earl G. Graves School of Business and Management at Morgan State University. Dr. Kim received his Ph.D. degree from the Pamplin College of Business of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (also known as Virginia Tech) and his master's degree from Purdue University.

Dr. Kim's research interest areas include service marketing and strategic human resource management. His work has been published in several top-tier peer-reviewed journals, such as International Journal of Hospitality Management, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research, Journal of Hospitality Marketing & Management, and Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing among others. With the additional scholarships in diverse publications, Dr. Kim has successfully obtained competitive research grants awarded by the Darden Restaurant Corporation (A Leader in the Full-Service Restaurant Industry in the US), Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Virginia Tech, and Morgan State University among others. Also, he acquired certifications in Hotel Industry Analytics and Cvent Supplier Network awarded by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute and US Event Management Company.

Dr. Kim is very skilled in various research methods and statistics, such as experimental designs, multivariate statistics, structural equation modeling, and statistical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R, LISREL, Amos 4.0, Nvivo 10, etc.,). Based on research, doctoral training, and professional experience, he has taught various service marketing and strategic management-related courses and has received nearly perfect teaching evaluation ratings from the students. Dr. Kim consistently conducts innovative research in order to inform and enrich his teaching and to maintain his expertise in service marketing and management. He has been selected as an outstanding teacher for Excellence in Teaching in Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech. Also, he holds an editorial board appointment on Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research (the top-tier journal in hospitality & tourism discipline). Further, he has actively engaged in the academic community as a board member and a reviewer with nearly all of the top-ranked research journals and international conferences in the hospitality & tourism management discipline. Also, he consistently disseminates relevant research findings through scholarly journals, presentations at academic conferences, and professional associations. Moreover, he is a board member and a chapter advisor of renowned professional associations such as the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (I-CHRIE) and National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH).
