Library IT Services
The Earl S. Richardson Library Information Technology (IT) Help Desk is the first point of contact for students, faculty, and staff seeking assistance with computer issues and information concerning Library IT resources. Requests for support can be made in person at the IT Help Desk, or by calling the Help Desk number 443-885-3849.
Services and Information
General Use Laboratory (Room 118)
This microcomputer laboratory has a capacity of 60 users. The laboratory is for general academic use, internet access, and access to common application software. Its purpose is to support the instruction and research needs of library patrons.
Instruction Laboratory (Room 117)
This microcomputer laboratory has capacity of 25 users. Its use is based on reservation and main lab overflow. Printing is also available.
Mitchell Room/Quiet Study Room (Rm 120)
This microcomputer laboratory has a capacity of 12 user and additional seating that can be used for study. This is the only area in the library where eating and drinking is permitted. Food and Beverage vending machines are on site. Printing services are also available.
Equipment and Software
60 computers Operating System Windows XP and a few with Windows 7 Web Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer v.7 and Mozilla Programs: Microsoft Office 2007 with Office applications includes Word (word processor), Excel (spreadsheet), Power Point (presentations), Publisher (desktop publishing), and Access (database) Adobe Reader 9
A printer is available for printouts in the Lab. There is a thirty-page per person per day print limit. Any larger print jobs will be deleted. All unclaimed printouts will be discarded at the end of the day.

For help using the Morgan State University Computer Lab computers, ask the lab staff on duty.
