2017 WBHR-LSAMP Annual Summer Research Symposium
On July 27, 2017 the School of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences hosted the Washington, Baltimore, Hampton Roads Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (WBHR-LSAMP) 2017 Annual Summer Research Symposium, coordinated by Dr. Cleo Hughes Darden, Chairperson of Biology. The symposium included 23 oral presentations and 30 poster presentations from ten institutions, and a total of nearly 140 guests from 14 institutions. The presentations covered a broad array of topics across the computational, life, physical, and social sciences, as well as engineering. Inspiring presentations were provided by plenary speaker Ricky Venters, professional engineer and STEM Motivator of Ricky Venters Enterprise, LLC, and keynote speaker Dr. Robert Louis Shepard, Principal at the Shepard Institute (TSI), LLC, and author of “Fulfilling My Destiny, Step By Step.” Congratulations to all the participants!
