India Tantalizes
By Mary Anne Akers

Dean Akers and Sanjit Roy with Governor Martin O'Malley
Like watching a snake charmer's performance, you are captured and don't know how (and don't want) to disengage yourself. This was my experience with India. Last November and December 2011, Professor Sanjit Roy, assistant professor in the graduate architecture program, and I were invited by President David Wilson to join him as part of Governor O'Malley's delegation to India. Together with about 100 delegates, we visited three of India's largest cities - Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi. Although the main purpose of the trip was to forge business partnerships, the Governor invited several academic institutions to meet with Indian schools.
