Department:    Office of Alumni Relations 

Duties:   Provides clerical support to the Office of Alumni Relations and staff;  assists with maintaining and updating alumni records using Razor’s Edge; enters and retrieves information from the database, e.g., annual dues, life membership, addresses, and membership card information; coordinates bulk mailings, assists in deposits and credit card transactions; prepares correspondence, charts, forms and other materials; sets-up and maintains files; assists in preparing and administering office accounts;  opens, sorts and routes mail; screens and directs telephone calls and visitors; creates and posts daily appointment schedules; handles all necessary equipment repairs and service requests; assists in updating information for the Online Community; assists in preparing material for board meetings, alumni luncheons, and other activities; uses automated office equipment, e.g., facsimile machines, personal and network computers, printers, copy equipment, voice messaging, electronic mail, and telephone systems; and performs other duties, as required.                                                                                                          

Minimum Qualifications:  High School Diploma or GED.  One year of office experience, providing administrative and clerical support, e.g., involving the production of documents using automated equipment and software.  Demonstrated ability to type at least 40 wpm. 

Note:  Applicants are required to complete the university’s required skills assessment test to be considered.  Some positions require specific skills such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, database, email or calendaring software, and Internet proficiency

Requirements:   Knowledge of and skill in the practical application of office practices and procedures; ability to communicate effectively; skill in proofreading and editing documents; skill in various computer software packages, such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation programs, internet, email and calendaring software; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties; ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with only general instructions.
