DepartmentPhysical Plant Department

Duties:   Performs semi-skilled tasks in building construction and maintenance under general supervision; utilizes general knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques, materials, tools and equipment; performs preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems and structural components of buildings and equipment; conducts inspections of buildings and equipment; performs routine and emergency repairs; responds to all related repair requests and troubleshoots problems; operates and maintains tools and equipment; prepares estimation of time and materials required on assigned tasks; prepares reports, and updates logs, charts and service manuals; performs other duties, as required.

Note:    The employee is considered “Essential Personnel.”

Minimum Qualifications:   Three (3) years of related work experience.

Preference:   High School Diploma or GED.

Requirements:  Knowledge of building construction or maintenance and repair practices; knowledge of basic tools and equipment used in maintenance and repair work; knowledge of related safety practices and procedures; ability to communicate effectively; ability to complete logs and work forms; ability to make adjustments, repairs and replacements to building fixtures and mechanical equipment; ability to work around fixed equipment or machinery; ability to work at heights up to 35 ft.; ability to manipulate heavy equipment, tools, supplies and/or exert force up to 70 lbs.; ability to concurrently manipulate multiple controls on machinery and equipment; ability to work in hazardous or irritating environments, confined spaces and adverse weather or temperature conditions; ability to work in personal protective equipment.
